(TULSA, Okla.) Verified News Network (VNN) is excited to announce a new partnership with BetaBlox, LLC, a Tulsa business incubator and accelerator. VNN Founder Brittany Harlow has explored a variety of business resources since taking over the company in July 2018, which included applying for acceptance into the BetaBlox entrepreneur program in November. In December, Harlow received word from BetaBlox Lead Investor Weston Bergmann that VNN had been selected as a business they were interested in. “It was welcome news, to say the least,” Harlow said. “We have been trying everything to expand our network and reach VNN’s full potential. This is a great opportunity for company growth.” After interviewing with BetaBlox investors on two occasions, VNN was accepted into the program, which began on February 2. The program kicked off with an intensive day-long business workshop “bootcamp,” followed up with six months of free access to 36°North, a mentor lecture series, start-up classes, 1-on1- business consultations, access to investors, and more. “We're thrilled to be welcoming the Verified News Network into BetaBlox,” BetaBlox Lead Investor Weston Bergmann said. “It's been evident for years that the systems we use to consume news are broken - and VNN addresses those issues. Their founder, Brittany Harlow, has all the markings of an amazing entrepreneur that we like to see. Their acceptance into our incubator family was a no-brainer.”
After the rigorous first six months, VNN will have access to BetaBlox services and assets indefinitely. In exchange for the program, BetaBlox became small minority shareholders in VNN with no voting rights or power. BetaBlox currently has 140 startups in their portfolio, out of 2000 applications received to date.
